Surviving Month-to-Month with Cance

Donation protected
This past August, 2018, I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer that also involves the lymph glands.  I am concerned about my continuing working during the cancer treatment because of the extent that the treatment pulls down the immune system.  I have 5 months of chemo treatment and then surgery and then radiation.  The chemo starts Oct. 9, 2018.

I was diagnosed  with Chronic Fatigue in 1995 the same day that my husband was diagnosed with Early Senile Dementia that accompanied his Parkinson's disease.  I took care of Steve for 10 years.

In the meantime, I was trying to help a stepson who was injured in a bad accident that totaled his half-ton truck in 2001,   His insurance for therapy had run out and I was helping to pay for his therapy plus living expenses.  I was divested of all my investments because he eventually had to go on disability and could not pay back the over $100,000 for which  he had promised to reimburse me.  I could not work full time due  to the Chronic Fatigue and had to constantly rely on my investments to live.  My husband who was 20 years older than I,  died in 2002 and I was too young to collect his Social Security.  My financial advisor at the time did not inform me that my stepson could go on Medicaid.  So I am paying out $1500 a month to my stepson and lost $1300 a month when Steve passed away.  I have been able to support myself with substitute teaching and tutoring.  At this time, I am employed part-time as a Child Care Assistant at a facility in Powell for which I receive $600 to $700 monthly plus $1600 from Steve's Social Security and pensions.  I was either going to request more hours at the child care facility or find a second job when I had the cancer diagnosis.  I plan to work as much as I can but the oncologist said I "better be on my A game".  I am hoping to be able to recover enough between treatments to have an "A" game but I do not know how I will react to the drugs.

If there is any contribution you can make towards my living expenses, it will be more than greatly appreciated.  Thank you for  taking the time to read this explanation for the needed funds.
