Surgery for Pete
Donation protected
Friends,
A few days ago my dear, sweet Pete tore her CCL. It's apparently a common injury for her breed, but the surgery is prohibitively expensive (anywhere from $4-6k). I've been wrestling with the options of adopting her out to someone who can cover the surgery, or putting her down.
If you have met Pete, you know she is the dearest, most loyal, well-behaved companion a girl could ask for. She’s even forgiven me for giving her a boy’s name. It would obviously be a devastating decision for me either way.
But then so many of you responded with overwhelming love and generosity, wonderful advice, and even donations, and made what seemed an impossibility - keeping her - into a real option.
I have done a lot of research over the past two days - I've found a much cheaper option for surgery (@$3500), and some alternate payment options and possible subsidies.
For those who asked, I wanted to give you an opportunity to help me cover the cost of the surgery (and some of you have already Venmoed me @EmilyAnnMcB).
Pete and I are so grateful for your generous hearts, and would love to give back to you in any way we can, whether it be dog walking, babysitting, making a meal, or just offering prayers for your special intentions. Keeping Pete is the best Christmas gift I could ask for.
Please do share your mailing address with me in your donation comment so that I can thank you personally and properly!
