Stella Katherine Grice turned two years old on December 6th, 2016.
Just ten weeks after her second birthday, on Wednesday, February 15, Stella was on day eight of a persistent cough that her doctor thought was croup. But when Stella's cough worsened to the point of Stella throwing up four times one night, her mom recorded the cough -- and when Stella's doctor heard the recording, she asked Sarah to bring Stella in for blood work and chest x-rays right away.
By Friday, Stella had been diagnosed with pre-B cell lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL.) By Saturday morning, Stella was a patient at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, taking her first step on her two-and-a-half year journey to fight for her life.
Even with health insurance, Stella's mom and dad are looking at out-of-pocket costs in excess of $90,000. Since taking care of Stella while she's undergoing treatment is now her mom's full-time job, Stella's parents are down to a single income. Every single fever Stella has will result in the family checking into the hospital for inpatient care until the fever has been gone for 24 hours.
Any amount you can give would be appreciated. Stella is a sweet, beautiful, and very funny little girl who loves dancing, going to story time, watching Daniel Tiger, and playing with her big brother, Landon. She brings joy and smiles to all who know her. The funds raised will be used to help Stella's family with medical costs and time off of work while Stella is going through chemotherapy.
