Support for Johnny & Family

Donation protected
Johnny, 28, has put up quite the fight with battling aplastic anemia since July 2016. He has had ongoing blood transfusions (Thank you to all those who take the time to donate blood) and platelet transfusions.
For those of you that don't know, aplastic anemia is a deficiency of all types of blood cells caused by failure of bone marrow development.

Since his diagnosis, Johnny has been admitted at Princess Margaret Hospital and he has had two bone marrow transplants, in which both have failed.
The first bone marrow transplant resulted in Johnny being diagnosed with Lymphoma, and his most recent bone marrow transplant resulted in a fungal infection. The infection started in his blood and then spread to his lungs. As a result, Johnny now suffers from a pneumonia in the tissues of his lungs.

Johnny is a father of a beautiful two-year-old girl named Mya. Since Mya is only two, she was not allowed to visit him at all- due to hospital regulations. He was on immune suppressants and from Mya being in daycare, they did not want to risk Johnny’s life. This then put him into a state of depression, and with Johnny’s declining health, the doctors finally allowed Mya to visit him twice. Fully gowned, face mask and gloves Mya got to say hi to her dad. When leaving the hospital, she had an infatuation with the gloves, and took one home. She looked at the glove and said “Daddy” and had tears in her eyes.

As of March 16th, Johnny has been released from Princess Margaret Hospital and is currently living at home with the help of palliative care nurses. Johnny’s family and doctors are respecting his wishes with not wanting to pass away in the hospital, so they are all working hard together to make sure he is as comfortable as possible.

That being said, Johnny has been blessed to have constant family around him to know that he is loved. His mom & dad have taken a leave of absence from work, which has caused a tight finical situation. (Especially because the Dad just battled Lymphoma a few months prior to Johnny’s diagnosis).

With Johnny’s dad battling cancer late 2015 & early 2016, Kaitlyn and I decided to donate 10” of our hair. This was my second time, and Kaitlyn’s first. With finding out Johnny has cancer as well; I am donating 12” of my hair for the third time and Kaitlyn has now decided she wants to donate blood as a thank you for all those who have saved her brother this long. (I would but I am anemic)

This Go-Fund me page is to help them with their financial situation, as well as help pay for the funeral if it comes to that.

We want to thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any donations that may be made. Any contribution made will help with the unforeseen costs that the family has encountered and will be greatly appreciated.
