Supporting the Enriquez

Zane Enriquez is a resident of Light Farms community in Celina, Texas and is a student of Reynolds Middle School. Unfortunately, Zane was struck by a vehicle and badly injured while using a crosswalk on his way back from the neighborhood basketball courts in the early evening hours of Monday, December 9th. While his father was one of the first on the scene, he didn't know it was his child and dialed 911 as others were doing. It wasn't until a few moments later when his son wasn't answering his phone that he realized that it was indeed his son on the ground. Police and paramedics were quick to arrive and transport him to Medical City of Plano Trauma Center.

It was there that multitudes of tests were performed. Luckily the MRI and xrays came back negative, however, concussion, a bruised kidney (which will reduce its functionality) and pelvic hematoma were noted and being watched. It is unclear as to what extent the pelvis injuries will present to Zane or what pediatric orthopedists may need to be tasked with his recovery.

After spending two days in the hospital with physical therapists, speech pathologists and a top-notch nursing staff, Zane was cleared to continue his recovery at home with his family.

The family is unsure what hospital and recovery costs are going to look like at this time but, as dedicated parents, decided to temporarily put their jobs on hold to tend to their injured child. This will, indeed, cause some monetary issues
that the family can’t forecast. So the family is accepting donations to offset current and future medical and therapy cost.
