Supporting the amazing Falkland School

Do you want to join us in making a difference? We're raising money in aid of THE FALKLAND SCHOOL CHARITABLE TRUST and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us. In these unprecedented times fundraising has stopped for Falkland School! The children have missed out on a disco and the much anticipated and loved Summer Fete could not take place. The Summer Fete alone brings in between £8k - £10k, which is clearly a huge benefit to the school.  All of the pupils in the school have benefited from the monies raised including funding new computers and laptops, a new play area in KS1, a new lighting and sound system for the hall, new furniture for many of the classes, new lighting in classrooms, maths resources, ecogarden equipment, a poet in residence for a week and dance and drama workshops. Through the FSA and Charitable trust we have purchased a new school minibus, a new projector for the hall, improvements to Sam’s room, a refresh of book band library books, plus a number of other projects. The school minibus alone is a massive investment; it will positively impact each and every child and is testament to the amazing work that the FSA does. Without fundraising none of these fantastic projects could have taken place.  The current COVID-19 situation has created a number of unforeseen costs which the school has had to directly fund. These include costs for extra teachers, holiday clubs for children of keyworkers and the provision of additional toilets. Since we are not able to access many of the government funds, this all directly impacts the available monies to support extra curricula activities for your children.  So, looking to the future and despite a lack of fundraising activities, we are hoping to purchase new library books and update the chrome books (a replacement for the old iPads). Therefore, the FSA and Charitable Trust would like to set up a GoFundMe Page to support the children in these uncertain times. Mrs Wood and her team have gone above and beyond in these challenging conditions, opening the school to every child before the end of term, supporting key workers and the vulnerable and opening our wonderful school to other settings.
