Supporting Sarah Leete & Family

As many of you would now know, my dear friend Sarah Leete and her siblings are currently dealing with the recent loss of their father Mr Jeff Leete, a hardworking family man and pillar of the community who sadly lost his battle with cancer on Monday morning (21/10/19).
As they are a very close knit and private family, what many of you may not know however is this is only just the beginning of the next journey for these guys as their mother, Rose-Marie battles with serious (and costly) health issues of her own.
For the last 12 months or so Sarah has put her music career, being her main source of income, on the back burner to care for and support her parents during this time. This has taken a huge financial toll on her, not to mention the immense mental and emotional stress she’s battled through.
In her usual generous, giving Sarah Leete style, during this time she has donated some of her “spare” (ha!) time to perform at a number of charity events, ironically some of these raising funds for other cancer patients. As we all know bills have gotta be paid and hence, Sarah will be back performing as of Friday the 1st with a gig lined up in Tamworth.
Now what I naively wasn’t prepared for when I spoke to Sarah yesterday was to hear of the huge costs the family is now facing just to lay their father to rest. Despite all of this, this inspirational boss babe manages to crack a joke and find a positive in a shitty situation.
I’m starting this go fund me campaign (after carefully weighing up the risk that Sarah may kill me for doing so) to raise some funds to help ease the financial burden on this beautiful family and allow them a little peace of mind over the next week or so to grieve their loss and begin to plan for their mother.
I’m well aware that times are tough for many of us currently but even if it’s only a few dollars, I can assure you every cent will be extremely appreciated by Sarah and her fam!
