Tribute to Robert

Dear Friends, Family, and Colleagues,

After a 21 Month battle of Mucinous Neoplasm of the Appendix (abdomen cancer), Thursday September 7, 2023 at 5:36am our friend Robert Michael Pedraza (40) passed away peacefully in his home. Robert leaves behind his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 12 years Jennifer, son Jacob(12) , daughter Juliana(9), and son Jude(2).

Robert fought hard to beat this life ending disease. While his physical strength diminished from his condition, his emotional strength, and drive remained strong. He masked his pain and symptoms to even those closest to him. He went to countless doctor visits and navigated the health care system. He experienced chemo treatments, experimental treatments, special diets, tests, surgeries, home remedies, loss of appetite, intravenous feeding, uncontrolled vomiting, and detrimental weight loss. His outward strength during this process was admirable. We will never really know the pain he was experiencing as he never showed it.

Robert was an exceptional father. He led by example. He was reserved yet well spoken. He was physically strong and emotionally gentle. He poured his time and energy into his children to the very end. His giant smile will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Alongside the strong man stood his wife, Jennifer. She supported Robert both physically, mentally, and spiritually during this process. She selflessly demonstrated an unmatched bedside support, constant encouragement, care, critical decision making, and prayers.

The Pedraza household has been shaken, but their faith remains strong. Please join us in prayer over the family.

During Robert’s initial battle with cancer, this GOFUNDME was posted. The generous support the family received provided basic necessities, financial relief, health care deductibles, medications, experimental treatments, and opportunities to spend quality time together making everlasting memories. The family would like to THANK YOU for your generosity.

Due to the recent passing of Robert, people have reached out to offer assistance to Jenn and her three children to provide an offering, prompting the update of this page. A Prayer for Hope: Lord, I maintain my hope in You and I hold onto the assurance that what I am praying for is already accomplished in the name of Jesus. Your Word promises “no good thing does He withhold from those that walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11). I wait upon You for Your definition of the “good thing” You will not withhold from me. As David prayed in Psalm 18:1-2: “I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
