Supporting our dear Barbara

Dear friends and family of Barbara Rodriguez –

As you may know, Barbara was diagnosed with a rare terminal cancer a few months ago and was given only a short time to live. In all humility, I come to you, to ask for your support as Rhonda cares for her Mom as she struggles with her battle with cancer. Rhonda’s friends from Blue Shield have established this fund to support Rhonda as she takes time off of work to care for her Mom during these last precious moments in her home.

Barbara has lived a full life, raising three children, adoring 9 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.   She enjoys time outdoors and loves to share her home with her family and friends.  She has touched so many lives as her time as a teacher, mentor, caretaker, mother, grandmother and devoted friend.   Even though this awful disease has gripped her body, her mind and soul are determined and alive, embracing every moment she has with us.

Caring for her Mom throughout this battle is so important to Rhonda, as Barbara’s daughter. She feels blessed to work for a company that has granted her time off to care for her mom these last months, but she is fearful that the coming months will become very difficult for her financially to continue being by her mom’s side. I come to you to ask for your support to help Rhonda remain at home as she cares for her Mom in her final months.

 Any and all gifts are appreciated and Rhonda would be eternally thankful to have this time to be by her mother’s side.
