Supporting Kris Illum and Family

On behalf of Kris Illum and her family, the Kansas City Stars hockey community started this campaign to offer support for Damien, Brooke, Amber, and Derek as Kris’s 5 ½ year battle with cancer comes to an end. The Illum and Bachtle families have been part of Kansas City hockey for many years. For those not familiar with the sport, you’ll hear hockey teams refer to themselves as family – and families rally when one of their own needs help.

On May 3rd Damien made the decision to admit Kris into the Kansas City Hospice facility. There, she is able to rest peacefully and her family can focus on Kris, and each other, as she walks the final days of her journey.

Proceeds from this fund will provide relief for the Illum family as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. Your contributions will help to ease the financial burden from out-of-pocket medical expenses, assist with final planning, help with meal delivery services, etc.
