Supporting Justin Through Hearing Loss

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

My name is Justin. I am a 26 year old who has fallen on hard times, and has not been able to find appropriate hearing aids at a cost that would benefit me.

I wish I was able to hear better. The smile you see of me, is the smile when I am able to hear, able to participate, and able to be who I truly am as a person. Hearing aids are my ears. They are the gears that turn to allow me to participate in daily life situations. Without them, I struggle.

New hearing aids would allow me to volunteer more. They would allow me to go out more and give more of my time to individuals who need someone to put them first and help them selflessly. I want to be able to help, but due to my hearing loss, I am the one who needs help the most.

New hearing aids would help me hear my nephew better. They would help me hear my family better. They would help me hear my friends better. The most important thing, especially now, are my friends and family. Being able to hear them properly would make me so happy, instead of having them constantly repeat themselves to the point where they say, "never mind" and I'm excluded from the conversation because of my hearing loss. It breaks my heart when I can't help them, or be there for them because of my hearing loss.

My life dramatically changed when I was fit with hearing aids for the first time. I know this is what I need. For the first time in my life, I am asking for help, I am putting myself first, and am hoping that through the assistance of others, I am able to be able to hear normally again.

My hearing loss is significant. I am unable to hear even standing in front of someone, unless they have a higher pitched voice, and even sometimes with my current hearing aids, I am still unable to hear them properly.

According to my audiologist, my hearing is at the point where my current product level in my current hearing aids cannot be adjusted any more, and I would need to upgrade to a newer product to benefit me. Unfortunately, everything has a cost, and my audiologist has explained that the cost is around $6,000. This includes any government incentives.

One hearing aid alone, costs a total of $3,000.

The government is only covering $1,000, which is $500 per ear.

I am not someone who likes to advertise their struggles, or their adversity, and am always on the opposite side fighting for everyone to get what they deserve. Today, I am asking for any help possible, in any way, to help me order a pair of hearing aids that would benefit me the most.
