Supporting Fred-Diabetic Amputee
Donation protected
On July 25 2018, I took my husband Fred to the ER with a fever and blood sugar over 400. It was due to a diabetic ulcer he has had for 3 years on his right foot. It took the hospital 2 days to get his fever and blood sugar under control, due to his infected foot.
Several tests were done and the vein specialist concluded that 1 out of the 3 arteries in Fred's leg was getting blood to his foot. The other 2 arteries were dead.
On August 4th 2018 due to the infectious ulcer, that was infected to the bone, Fred had to have his toes and part of his foot amputated. This was despite him going to his foot doctor weekly, getting the ulcer cleaned out.
He is still in the hospital and has a long road to recovery. He will be moved to a rehab treatment center, so he can learn to walk again.
My name is Terri, I am Fred's wife. My job is only part time.
Due to financial strain of Fred being unable to work, I'm looking for help with mounting medical bills and family expenses.
Thank you from the heart to anyone that can help. No donation is too small to make a difference.
