Supporting Dad's Stage 4 Lung Cancer Journey

In the blink of an eye, our lives took a dramatic and unexpected turn.

On September 27th, my dad went into the hospital for stomach pains. He was initially observed and sent home. Some time went by and we convinced him to go back as the pain hadn't subsided and his entire body was aching.

Within hours after arriving back at the hospital on Monday October 9th our father, Donny , was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer. After a few biopsies, blood tests, and scans it was determined the cancer has already spread to his brain, bones, liver, lungs, and other areas throughout the body.

This devastating news has not only shaken our world but has also brought my dad to crossroads he never saw coming.

Dad has always been the hardworking provider for his small family. He has given everything he could, ensuring that my two little sisters, Cheyenne and Laila, had everything they needed. But now, due to this cruel twist of fate, our father is unable to continue working. The physical and emotional toll of his illness has left him unable to provide for himself and his family as he once did.

The most heart-wrenching part of this situation is that Dad doesn't have health insurance. The mounting medical bills, costs of doctor's appointments, and necessary treatments are impossible. We are doing everything we can to secure insurance for him, but it's a lengthy process, and in the meantime, the expenses continue to pile up and the doctor's wont even talk to him about treatment or his results without payment and time is of the essence.

We are reaching out to you, our friends, family, and compassionate strangers, to help us support Dad during this challenging time. Your contributions will go towards covering his medical expenses, including initial follow up appointment and therapy, doctor's appointments. This will also help us expedite the process of securing insurance to ease the financial burden in the future.

But our plea doesn't end there. Our family is a tight-knit unit, and the impact of Dad's illness extends beyond the medical bills. With him unable to work, he's struggling to make ends meet and provide for Laila and Cheyenne. We want to ensure they have the opportunity to thrive despite this adversity.
