Supporting Brittany through Breast Cancer
Hola! Thank you for taking the time to hear Brittany's story. She is a wonderful friend and someone that we all love dearly. We appreciate your prayers, donations, and positive energy towards Brittany during this unexpected journey.
This summer, Brittany was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) and Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS), which are early forms of breast cancer. After a successful bilateral mastectomy, her doctors were able to remove the cancerous cells and Brittany is on track for a full recovery. However, due to her cancer being hormone driven and aggressive, her treatment process will include antibody infusions for a year, and also hormone therapy for 5-10 years. Unfortunately, hormone treatment will prolong Brittany’s timeline for safely and naturally having children. Brittany has decided to be proactive about this side effect and undergo fertility preservation treatment (IVF). Although it’s wonderful that she has this option, the costs are quite high and not covered by insurance.
I know that many of us are searching for ways to support Brittany as she overcomes these unique and difficult challenges she’s facing. Together, we can help ease the financial burden they imply, which would be a great relief for her, and help her toward the path of the full and healthy, cancer-free life we hope her to have.
****NOTE: GoFundMe was the most trusted platform where we could collectively support Brittany, however it does retain 2.9% of donations through transaction fees.
If you prefer to use a different platform or are more comfortable doing so, please consider donating directly to Brittany through her Venmo or PayPal accounts.
