Economic sustainability is a real underlying problem in the Black & Brown communities. The African American community spends $1.2 Trillion dollars per year, but only a fraction of that amount circulates to the black businesses that serve as the pillars for the black communities in America. The effects of this have lead to local mom & pop shops having increasing difficulty remaining sustainable in our neighborhoods. The decline of these small black owned businesses lead into less job opportunities, after-school program funding and other harbored opportunities in our communities for our youth – resulting in being bought out by larger corporations.
NOVAM is a digital marketplace created to combat the effects of economic disparities for Small Black & Brown businesses in our communities. Our mission is straight forward, focus our dollar back into our communities. Studies show that the black dollar sees only two transactions in our communities versus other groups who see 10-16 transactions before the dollar leaves their communities.
Our marketplace focuses on allowing Entrepreneurs with e-commerce or brick&mortar businesses to create digital storefronts on NOVAM to conveniently provide their goods & products to customers looking to spend their dollar with their own. We are not just simply a digital marketplace, but we are a growing tech company focusing our future development to allow for economic building and sustainability to become much easier for our communities that need it MOST.
