Supporting Gretchen's Fight

Gretchen Dawson is a wife, mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, friend and so much more. She was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer after detecting a lump during a self examination; her worst fears were then confirmed as she made a follow up doctors visit. This came as a complete  shock to herself and her family.  Gretchen, along with her husband Richmond and their daughter Ander are embarking on a journey of uncharted territory. Gretchen underwent 12 weeks of chemo to help shrink the cancer cells followed by a scheduled double mastectomy in March to remove the remainder of the cells. Upon completion of that she will undergo 8 more weeks of chemo with the potential to undergo some radiation as well. So far the treatment has been very successful in shrinking her tumor!! She has been commuting in and out of Boston for these treatments.

Gretchen is a Director of an early child care center. Due to the nature of her work she has had to dramatically cut down her hours at work as her immune system has been compromised and the need to minimize potential illness is imminent. Following her double mastectomy, she will be completely out of work as she recouperates. This being said, her support group has determined it imperative that we start this page to help the Dawson family with finances for both medical  and  domestic financial responsibilities.
