Support for Megan

Life always has a way of catching you by surprise. For our friend Megan, life surprised her in quite an unfortunate way.

This spring, Megan found herself in extreme pain, unable to eat, unable to get out of bed, or do anything she would do in her normal day-to-day life. For the past two months she has not been able to eat or walk and needs 24/7 hospital care. After countless ER visits, being hospitalized twice, being pricked and poked countless times, and receiving all the pain medications that the nurses could administer,  the doctors came to the conclusion that Megan has an autoimmune disease (likely Crohn's disease.) Although her problems have increasingly progressed she has dealt with this undiagnosed issue for nearly 8 years.

This, for Megan, is just an addition to her list of medical issues. Megan already lives with with asthma, epilepsy, and gastroparesis.

But this is just her medical history. We wish we could put you in our shoes for a day, so you could see just how incredible our friend is at living her life. In her regular life (as regular as it can get for a 20-year-old woman), Megan spends her days going to school, going to work and spends time doing things that she loves to do. Megan is a junior at the University of New Mexico, studying secondary education. Megan is planning to be a teacher someday and, we can be the first to say, she is going to make an amazing teacher! As of right now, Megan works for the Daily Lobo, based out of UNM, writing and editing for the News Desk.

At the time I am writing this Go Fund Me Bio, Megan is currently hospitalized.  This is day 11 of Megan's second hospitalization since March and is currently waiting to be transferred to The University of Colorado Hospital by ambulance for extensive diagnosis and treatment.

Megan loves to spend her free time cooking, camping, hiking, reading, volunteering with refugees and spending time with close friends. Really she is looking for support in her time of need -- just like any of us would -- as medical bills stack as high as the roof.

All of the raised money will be going towards paying for Megan's ER visits, hospitalizations, tests, diagnosis, medical transport and any on going treatment.

The support of her family and friends has been so valuable to Megan during this time, and we hope that through this Go Fund Me page, you can be a part of this incredible support system that Megan needs right now.

Thank you in advance for anything you can donate.
