Kick terrorism out of Burkina Faso!

We, the Boards of Friends of Burkina Faso (FBF) and the Association des Burkinabes de Washington (ABURWA), come together to support the Burkinabé victims of the terrorist attacks on 13 August 2017. This attack on a Turkish cafe in Ouagadougou killed 18 people including citizens from Burkina Faso, Kuwait, Canada, Libya, Senegal, Nigeria, Turkey, Lebanon, and France.
After many conversations about how to help, we have set a goal that will support victims and their families in two ways:
1) Direct support to the wounded Burkinabé to cover medical costs as fully as possible. This will help them recover fully as possible from any injuries they suffered.
2) Support to the families of the victims to cover school and housing costs. This will offset income loss and arrangments to see family members laid to rest.
In order to achieve these goals, FBF and ABURWA are working with the Burkina Faso Embassy in the US. In cases such as the terror attack and other national tragedies, a committee in Burkina is typically established to support those affected. We will keep everyone who contributes up-to-date on our communications with the Embassy.
Together FBF, ABURWA, and you will join with our brothers and sisters in Burkina Faso as part of a united family, and prove that terrorism will always be met with support and resilience.
