Support for Ian

Donation protected
UPDATE: Though we've hit our goal  please continue to donate and share as we'd like to offer as much help to Ian's family as we can. Thanks for the support and well wishes - it means a lot to him!

In late January 2018, our dear friend Ian Bridges was diagnosed with lymphoma at age 27.

As Ian's friends and former colleagues, we hope this GoFundMe campaign will rally support for medical expenses for Ian’s care. We are using the campaign to cast a wider net to ask for financial support for those who have asked how to support Ian during this time. All funds raised through this campaign will be given directly to Ian’s family to help with his out-of-pocket medical expenses.

Ian’s Story

Ian is a 2012 Morehouse College graduate who majored in Business Administration and Management. He chose to forgo corportate opportunities to return to his hometown as a 2012 Teach For America (TFA) Corps Member, teaching Kindergarten in Detroit, Michigan.

Because of his passion to ensure all students attain an equitable education, Ian joined TFA's national staff as a Recruitment Manager, where he used his story to inspire students to teach .

In 2013, Ian co-founded a nonprofit called Gingerbread Scholars to ensure that low-income elementary students have access to relatable images of collegiate success.

Ian is currently a Consortium for Graduate Study in Management Fellow at University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Due to the severity of his condition, Ian has withdrawn from classes this semester, but we pray for a healthy return.

Things You Can Do to Help:

1. We all know how expensive medical expenses can get, so we are asking that you donate whatever you can to alleviate some cost for his family.

2. Help us get the word out about this GoFundMe Campaign. (Link )

3. Prayer. Ian is a firm believer in the healing power of prayer and he and his family are going to need your prayers and faith in the days to come.

We are thankful for any and all support that is received on Ian’s behalf.
