SUPPORT ZIMULA'S OPEN HEART SURGERY

This is Zimula Shafik a 9 year old orphan who is suffering from a heart disease (Double outlet right ventricle side by side great arteries, sub aortic VSD with inlet extension).

He lives in Kalagala village in Masaka District with the mother and his 2 siblings.

It was a normal delivery, but at 7 months he was over crying and at 9 months he started to reduce in weight.He started getting continuous fevers which made him to faint.

He was taken to Byansi clinic where he was scanned in the lungs and found them normal. They were advised to take him to Uganda heart Institute.

At one year he was taken to Uganda heart Institute where they confirmed that he had a hole in his heart. At Uganda heart Institute, they gave him some medication as they were waiting for him to grow.When they went back to Uganda heart Institute they referred him to India.

As the parent`s were still struggling to save their son`s life, the father also passed on when Shafik was 3 years which weakened in taking him back to Uganda heart Institute because the mother was not working and the father was the one looking for transport to take him to Uganda heart Institute regularly for check up and review.

At 5 years he was taken back to Uganda heart Institute and there was no improvement.He was then taken back to Uganda heart Institute at 9 years and referred him to India for operation where the mother is helpless financially.

She is a single mother of 3 children fighting for her children`s well-being.

We hope that this is the only solution to save the Zimula from a heart condition and we shall be grateful if shafik`s life is saved.

If funds are raised it will be allocated towards the open-heart surgery cost and traveling expenses such as Air tickets, visas, food and accommodation while in India.
