Support Zayne Vandehey's recovery

Yesterday, my 2 year old grandson Zayne was outside playing when in a split second, he got too close to the BBQ and somehow caught fire. Thankfully, his father quickly jumped into action and was able to pat out the flames with his hands and body. Unfortunately, Zayne has suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his hands, left arm and stomach. He was transported to the burn clinic at Children's of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama about a 4 hour drive from home.

The good news is he will likely make a full recovery. The bad news is the family was already struggling to make ends meet with a family of 3 young kids, a stay-at-home mom and a dad who depended on overtime to help make ends meet. Now they are looking at least a week of hospital time that is a long way from home. While thankfully they have insurance, not everything will be covered.

His parents (Kyle and Vanessa Vandehey) haven't asked for any help. They are both Army veterans who have faithfully served their country including serving time in Iraq. Kyle served in the Army over 8 years with much of the time overseas.

There has been a great outpouring of support and sympathy from those who know Kyle and Vanessa. I am reaching out to friends and families who are looking for a way to help. The donations you give will be used to help pay for Zayne's medical expenses, recovery and personal expenses for Kyle and Vanessa. They have an immediate need for assistance.
