Support Yuliya's Mission to Bring Her Family To Safety

I created this page to ask for your help for a dear friend in our community. Many of you know Yuliya, David, and their beautiful young family, who live right here in Monmouth County.
On March 10th, Yuliya's sister, Olena, passed away unexpectedly in Ukraine, leaving behind two children aged 13 and 14. She was only 48 years old.
Although Olena's death was not directly war-related, I think we all understand the impact that a lack of proper resources can wreak on the healthcare system of a war-torn country.
The children are currently in Odessa, waiting for Aunt Yuliya to arrive. We are trying to move things fast to prevent social services from taking them into an orphanage and be mindful of the external threat of an advancing army. The lack of resources, endless pushbacks, and inaccurate information (due to recently implemented new laws) further complicate the situation.
Yuliya is the only relative who can take these children in, as their father and both sets of grandparents are deceased. She has determined that she must travel to Ukraine to sort the situation out and bring these children to the US, risking her own safety. Yuliya and David wish to adopt the children and raise them as their own here in the US, as you and I would want to do for our nieces and nephews we love.
If you ever wanted to help fight the injustice that is happening in Ukraine, please consider supporting Yuliya’s mission to bring these beautiful children to the US so they can rebuild their lives in a home with the only family they have left.
Funds raised will go towards navigating this urgent and complex situation, including travel costs to/from Ukraine, legal fees and paperwork to obtain the appropriate visas, and ongoing legal support for obtaining legal guardianship of the children.
I asked myself what can I do as the mother of a young child fortunate enough not to be living in a war-torn country. I want to spread the word that we can do something for this family in need. Please donate what you can and help Yuliya in her mission to rescue these children into the arms of a loving family and community.
Your contribution can make a world of difference right here in our community — an impact you will have the opportunity to see firsthand when you meet these beautiful children. Thank you.
