Help Us Create a Safe Haven for Palestinian Families in Canada
In the face of adversity, compassion and solidarity can make a significant impact. The war in Gaza has forced many Palestinian-Canadians to evacuate their homes, leaving behind everything they knew and cherished. As a community, it is our responsibility to extend a helping hand to those in need. This fundraising initiative aims to provide essential support to evacuated Palestinian-Canadians, assisting them in their journey to settle down and rebuild their lives in Canada.
Objective
Our primary goal is to raise funds to aid evacuated Palestinian-Canadians in their resettlement process. The funds will be allocated to various crucial aspects of their relocation, including accommodation, transportation, furniture, food, and other essential needs.
Our Mission:
Our goal is to raise 30,000 CAD to provide these families with the essentials they need to start anew. Your donations will directly support:
- Accommodation: Secure temporary housing for families as they transition to life in Canada. Assist in finding affordable, long-term housing options, ensuring stability and a sense of home.
- Transportation: Provide financial support for transportation expenses, including flights and local commuting. Assist in obtaining driver's licenses and public transportation passes to facilitate mobility.
- Daily Necessities: Basic needs such as food, clothing, and medical care.
- Education for Children: School supplies and resources to help them integrate into the Canadian education system.
- Support for Job Hunting: Resources and assistance in finding employment, including resume preparation, job training programs, and connections with local employers.
- Furniture and Household Essentials: Furnish new homes with basic furniture and household necessities. Collaborate with local businesses and communities to donate items such as bedding, kitchenware, and other essentials.
- Clothing: Buying essential clothes to families to keep them warm during winter .

How did they make it to Canada?
At least 500 to 600 Palestinian Americans/Canadian await evacuation from the Gaza Strip on the 15th day of Israel’s assault.
Thanks to the https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2023/10/21/we-went-through-hell-palestinian-dual-citizens-remain-stuck-in-gaza" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">IRC, some families managed to leave from Cairo to Canada where they were provided with Flights and accomodation for 2 weeks. However they are on their own after that.
Amidst the echoes of conflict, these families embarked on a long journey that many could not fathom. They traversed over 10s of kilometers through what can only be described as a road marked by death and human destruction. One of the survivors recounted, "We were at home, without any food, or water, just waiting for our turn to die. And we had to try something. So we packed our bags and walked to Rafah like they asked us to do from the leaflets falling from the sky"
