TRiP Santa Monica has provided a stage & spotlight to artists from all over the world, but this business provides a much more important role than that. It is practically the last independent stage on the Westside that gives any revenue share to their artists. TRiP Santa Monica has always given their performers a fair shake. They were named "best neighborhood music venue" by LA Weekly, and for good reason. They know how important the independent artist community is, and they have proven this through action. Now it's our turn to support them in their time of need.
What your donations support:
1. Rent
2. Employee support
3. Utilities and insurance
Rent is not forgiven during the mandatory shutdowns, and rent in Santa Monica is inflated. TRiP faces a monthly bill of $6k in rent alone.
Employees of TRiP are struggling to get through to the California EDD (Employment Development Department) to file claims. They have no assurance of financial aid during the shutdowns.
The owners of TRiP have had to find other means of employment to keep TRiP afloat. With no incoming business and no reassurance of re-opening, how long can they keep working to support a sitting duck?
