Rich has been battling Cholangiocarcinoma of the Liver since February 2021. He is a strong warrior and bravely fighting this battle with cancer. However, the worry of financial security for his family weighs very heavy for him and sometimes feels unbearable. Rich has always provided for his family and the inability to work these past several months is one of the most difficult challenges he is facing.

Rich is a true patriot who loves his family and his country. Rich served his country honorably in the United States Marines where he served in the Gulf War. The saying “once a Marine, always a Marine”, holds true for Rich. He is an honorable man who worked as a Connecticut State Trooper for 23 years. After retiring from the State Police, Rich continued to serve his community and continued in a law enforcement career. Rich ultimately became a Shelton Police Officer and continued his strong values and tradition of being a dedicated police officer. He has served his city with pride and true care and concern for the residents of Shelton. It is imperative for a person of Rich’s caliber to receive recognition not only for his career, but for the outstanding person he is. Fundraising efforts have been made by the Shelton Police Department to show their support of their brother.
