Support the Nilon Family rebuild from a FIRE

Hi, my name is Kasimia. My parents Richard & Louisa Nilon’s property in Cairns, Deeral burnt down on Friday, 19th April 2024.

My mum was sleeping when the fire started. It is unknown what caused the fire according to the Police report. However we believe it may have been a fault in our ride on mower.

The whole place was burning and it awoke my mum to smoke and flames inside the property. The only place she could escape to was to run back inside her room as the place was filling up with smoke very quickly. Mum used all her might to break the glass windows in the room and managed to escape with cuts to her hand and foot and bruises all over her body as she fell out her bedroom window.

My dad and I flew down the next night as quickly as we could to see my mum who was traumatised from this tragedy seeing her livelihood burn in front of her eyes without her immediate family being (dad away at work in Port Moresby and myself & younger sister who lives in Brisbane).

This property was filled with our childhood photos, cars, dad’s beloved boat, my parents wedding bands and invaluable items that money cannot replace.

With your help my parents can hire contractors to remove all the debris and rebuild their home to retire.
