Family and Friends of the Heitman Family,
One of the things that is so wonderful about our community is our ability to come together to help out when one of our own needs comfort or support. Many of you are familiar with the Heitman family, aka the Rocket Car People. Some may know Lee as the hardworking head of transportation for the South-Euclid Lyndhurst City Schools. Others know Jen as the beloved secretary at Memorial Junior High. On Sunday, February 9th, the Heitman Family experienced a devastating electrical fire. They lost the entire 2nd floor of their home and have extensive damage to the first floor. Cooper lost everything in his room, including beloved toys and personal belongings.
While the fire on its own is absolutely devastating, the Heitman’s are also dealing with caring for a very ill family member. What people may not know is that Ron Heitman, (Cooper's grandfather) recently entered hospice and his last wish is to pass away at home. To make this happen, extensive repairs need to be made to their house as soon as possible. These repairs are quite costly and insurance coverage for their losses is not expected for several months. The family is currently residing in a small house with very little furniture and little clothing. Since we truly feel like an extended family, we would like to help the Heitman's get back on their feet. Let's all come together to help this wonderful family rebuild!
