I come to you with a heavy heart and ask for your help.
As many of you know my brother Billy passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 30, 2017 at the early age of just 53. This has left the entire Garry and Lunapiena family devastated. Especially his beautiful wife Tonia and their 3 children Nicky, Caitlin and Christopher.
Billy was the kindest of souls who would do anything for anyone. The world is a little less bright without him in it. But we all recognize the need to move forward and honor his legacy.
What you may not know if Billy was the main financial provider for the family. Tonia works part time to ensure the children have someone home on a regular basis to support the personal, educational and extra-curricular needs. I am sure the loss of his income is going to present a heavy burden on the family at a time when they already need to handle so much and adjust to their new reality.
So I humbly come to you today and ask for your support. My goal here is threefold:
1. Many of you have proactively reached out to me to inquire on how you could support the family financially. I hope this gives you an easy outlet to do just that.
2. There is no doubt in my mind that Tonia will find her way to a long term solution to meet their financial needs. She has never once lost dedication to the family needs and I know she is up to the task here. The request I am making now if to provide them a running start to get to a long term strategy while providing a short interval for the family to grieve and inventory what this new normal will mean for them going forward.
3. Show the family that despite losing so much so quickly they have a tremendous support system that loves them dearly and is invested in the family’s long term sustainability.
Your call to action is this... if you can contribute please do. There really is no such thing as too little when you see it all add up in the aggregate. I also ask you to share this campaign with your own networks and social media groups if you are inclined to do so. If you cannot not contribute I completely understand, but please consider sharing as the more we can get the word out the quicker we can get to the goal and hopefully beyond.
All funds will be self-directed by Tonia so she can immediately put them to good use.
