On May 21, 2018, our family member, Davin Egusa, was unfortunately involved in a life-threatening incident. Under the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation, Davin was a part of the crew assisting Leilani estates due to the heavy lava flow. While at work, he was run over by an excavator and immediately rushed to the Hilo Medical Center. As a result, his left leg was necessarily amputated and he was admitted to the ICU. On May 22nd, due to his critical condition, he was transferred to Queen’s Medical Center via Hawaii Life Flight where he is currently in the ICU there.
Davin is a father of three daughters ages 20, 18 and 14. Partner to Janelle Rosario of 20 years. Janelle accompanied Davin to Queens. She will be staying with him at the hospital through his treatment and recovery. She temporarily has no source of income and undergoing many hardships due to this event. Their second daughter, Kaydrian, just graduated from Waiākea High School last week Saturday and plans to attend college in the Fall to pursue a nursing degree. Their youngest Kayliah, will be graduating 8th grade from Waiākea Intermediate School next week.
The monies collected will be used towards living expenses for the family and basic necessities for Janelle while she is on Oahu with Davin. No donation is too small. We greatly appreciate any contribution you can make to help this unfortunate situation.http://www.khon2.com/news/local-news/highway-worker-hospitalized-after-being-run-over-by-tractoron-the-big-island/1191970838
Some information on me. My name is Shanel Cabango from Hilo. I am Janelle’s sister in law. The funds raised will be used to temporarily supplement Janelle’s income while she is out of work caring for Davin for the unforeseen amount of time necessary, pay any monthly bills/utilities/groceries, also to be used for any necessities and food she needs while she is with Davin in the hospital. This may also afford the opportunity for their daughters to be able to fly to see their father when he is conscious. The funds will be going directly to Janelle to use as needed.
