UPDATE: Thanks to your generosity we raised $560 within a day of posting this GoFundMe. We have raised enough to make sure the event is going to happen. We are raising our target now with the goal of providing free lunch to everyone coming in for this event.

The Quad Cities DSA is hosting the Bi-State Socialism Summit on October 12. We are going to have educational speakers and break out sessions on a number of different topics. The full schedule of events is at the bottom of this note. The funds we are raising will go towards these purposes:
- Venue reservation fees
- Insurance required by the venue
- Food (we'll be providing lunch)
- Printing materials for the schedule and classes
- Reserving a venue for a social event
Our chapter has enough funds to cover roughly half of the estimated costs. We are asking people to support us so we can put on a good event.

She works to both engage disenfranchised people into the political process and educate elected officials on the issues that impact the country's most marginalized communities. She also maintains Iowa's most unapologetically progressive social media space, which can be found at www.facebook.com/reymamccoymcdeid.
The classes being offered during the breakout sessions are:

- Without Intersectionality There Is No Justice - Taught by activist Cici Reece Bernstrom
