On behalf of the Acevedo family, I want to thank everyone for their generosity and messages of support during this extremely difficult time. When I set up this fundraiser less than a week ago for the family, I never thought that this amount of support was possible and we are grateful for every one of you! The funds raised thus far will cover all of the funeral and burial expenses for Guillermo. In addition, we will be setting up a special savings account for the children to help them with housing expenses and any other needs that may come up over the next few months. I will be withdrawing the donations for the funeral expenses and will transfer them directly to Teresa Acevedo's bank account. From there she will make the necessary payments and open up a savings account for her 3 young boys. Again, we are humbled by your generosity and are forever grateful.

Hello, I'm Teresa, and I find myself in an unimaginable situation that no one should ever have to face. On November 4, 2023, my beloved husband, Guillermo Acevedo, was tragically killed in a pedestrian accident in Jersey City, NJ. Guillermo had been a dedicated cook in Downtown Jersey City for over 20 years, and he worked tirelessly to provide for our family.

Guillermo was not just a devoted husband but also a kind, humble, honest, and hardworking man who always put his family first. He was a loving father to our three boys, aged 16, 14, and 8, and his loss leaves a gaping hole in our lives.

The accident occurred as he was on his way from one job to another, trying to make ends meet for our family. Anyone who knew Guillermo knows that he was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
