Support Skylyn in Her Battle with Lymphoma

Donation protected
Hi my name is Trey and I am here to ask for help and support for Skylyn Pace and her family as she begins her difficult journey fighting Hodgkins lymphoma.

Skylyn Pace recently graduated from East Carolina University this past Fall with a degree in Psychology and is Pursuing her Masters in Clinical Mental Health. She intended to work for the Boys and Girls Club in Greenville, NC until her doctor deemed it unsafe. Along with being unable to accept a job she had to move out of her house and move back home to Wilmington, NC.

Skylyn was admitted into the emergency room on February 2nd after coming down with a severe case of the flu in which she had difficulty breathing. The doctors took X-rays of her chest and noticed abnormalities in the size of her lymph nodes along with an enlarged spleen. Subsequently the doctors decided to have her take a CT scan. After being discharged she was sent to have follow ups with Oncology and Pulmonology at UNC Rex. After noticing that her lymph nodes were nearly 4 times the size of what they were supposed to be both doctors had her undergo a biopsy of her lymph nodes near her clavicle as well as a PET scan. The PET scan further confirmed the abnormalities of her lymph nodes in her neck, chest, and diaphragm (images attached below). Unfortunately, on February 29th Skylyn met with her Oncologist to go over her biopsy results. She was diagnosed with Stage 3b Classical Hodgkins Lymphoma, Nodular Sclerosis.

Skylyns road to recovery began with egg retrieval and storage with hopes to have children in the future in the circumstances that chemotherapy takes her chances of having kids away. She underwent a very successful egg retrieval on March 15th Prior to that on March 13th she had her port placed. She is expected to under go 6 rounds of Chemotherapy which will begin on March 21st.

With Skylyn now living at home, due to the dangers of a weakened immune system, she has to travel to Raleigh for treatments, scans, and other appointments. This traveling makes up only a minority of the total cost of what her diagnosis has entailed.

This Go Fund Me has been created in order to support Skylyn and her family financially as she has to pay for treatment, fertility, and other expenses during her battle. Any donation towards Skylyn and her family means everything and helps relieve the unneeded financial stress during such a physical and emotional battle with Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma.
