# Help Us Support Single Military Families
## My Dad Is a Marine: Home Is Where My Hero Lives Scholarship Fund
Hello, my name is Sacra Magdalia Durandisse, author of My Dad Is a Marine: Home Is Where My Hero Lives.
What began as a heartfelt children’s book inspired by the true story of a devoted Marine father has grown into a mission to support military families who sacrifice every day for our country.
Behind every military hero in uniform is a family that serves too.
We are raising funds to provide direct financial assistance to single military households and military families experiencing financial hardship. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to provide:
- 50 scholarships
- $1,000 per household
- Support for military families across all branches of the United States Armed Forces
If we exceed our fundraising goal, every additional $1,000 raised will allow us to help another military family in need.
## Why This Matters
Single military parents often carry tremendous responsibilities while balancing military service, parenting, deployments, financial obligations, and emotional stress. Many families quietly struggle with:
- Childcare expenses
- School supplies and educational costs
- Transportation needs
- Housing-related expenses
- Emergency financial assistance
- Basic daily living necessities
This initiative is about more than financial support. It is about reminding military families that their sacrifices are seen, valued, and appreciated.
## Inspired by a True Story
My Dad Is a Marine: Home Is Where My Hero Lives was inspired by the true story of Officer Juan Arce, a dedicated Marine and single father who faithfully served his country while raising his daughters with love, strength, honor, and integrity.
His story reflects the reality of many military families across our nation.
Now, we hope to turn that inspiration into meaningful support for others.
## How You Can Help
Every donation, no matter the amount, can make a difference in the life of a military family.
Your support can help provide hope, stability, and relief to families who give so much in service to our country.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, coworkers, churches, military organizations, veterans groups, and community networks.
Together, we can make a real impact.
Thank you for your support, prayers, and generosity.
Because home is where their hero lives.
