Safwat's Journey to his PHD
Donation protected
Safwat is a dedicated husband and a father to three beautiful children who four years ago moved to Louisville, Kentucky from “Al-Aroub” refugee camp in the West Bank, Palestine.
Growing up in “Al-Aroub” camp instilled a rare sense of dedication and ambition in him leading his educational journey to Italy, where he successfully completed a Master’s degree in Political Science, and pushed him to continuing his dream of pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Education and Social Change at Bellarmine University.
Safwat began his research on the historical and geopolitical factors that continue to shape the educational system for Palestinian refugees in the West Bank. These plans were all disrupted once the university blocked his registration due to unpaid tuition, adding that he will not be allowed to attend this upcoming semester without making a payment with the full amount due.
To provide for his family, Safwat works fulltime at a gas station, and his legal status has limited his ability in obtaining any loans or scholarships to cover school expenses.
In order for him to register for the upcoming semester, tuition needs to be paid in full and he is 8,900 dollars away. During these moments, it is truly commUNITY that uplifts one another and we are reaching out for your support.
We truly appreciate your generosity, every contribution helps, and let us tell you this - Safwat and his family will greatly appreciate your support as well.
