With a heavy heart, we share the sorrowful news of the sudden loss of our beloved Rohith Repala. He was a devoted son, a loving brother, and a cherished soul among his friends and ASU community. He recently graduated from Arizona State University with a Master's in Information Technology.
Rohith’s life was tragically cut short by an accident at Fossil Creek Waterfalls. Despite his brave efforts to stay afloat, he was overpowered by the strong currents. His body was later recovered with the help of a rescue team and a helicopter.
Just a week ago, we celebrated Rohith's graduation, a moment of happiness after the hardships he faced during his time at the university. Despite the tragic loss of his mother in an accident during his second semester (a year ago), Rohith showed incredible strength. He stood strong beside his father, excelled in his studies with a perfect GPA, and went out of his way to help his friends secure jobs. His kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
He diligently fulfilled his family duties and was eager to see his twin sister married soon. Being the primary breadwinner, his untimely departure will severely affect the family's finances. The substantial costs from education loan(more than $70K USD), funeral arrangements and support to the family have imposed a heavy financial strain on his elderly father.
Rohith wasn't merely a son or a student—he embodied compassion and selflessness, always placing his loved ones' needs above his own. In this trying moment, we humbly implore you to extend your hand in support of his grieving father.
