YO! My name is Rar and I'm a dancer based in Richmond, VA. I am fundraising for my own dance training, as it has been difficult to find spaces in Richmond where I can continue to be challenged and grow as a movement artist.
The money I raise will go to the costs of classes in Richmond but also travel and housing costs for places outside Richmond (DC, NYC, LA). It would be such a blessing to have the funds to train at the level I strive to perform at. Currently, I am one year into my dancing journey, so I'm really pushing myself to develop my craft and expand my movement.
Dance has given me the space to truly express myself. Growing up I didn’t have the resources or the financial capability to afford to really pursue the arts. I was fortunately given aid to attend Governor’s School for the Arts (Musical Theater Program) in Downtown Norfolk, Va during high school. Which was really the spark that set off this passion of mine and many others along this path.
Dancing is truly my passion and my end-all, be-all. No matter what, I will make my dream happen. Any contributions are greatly appreciated, and I am grateful for any support you can give. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.
