Support Rachel's Long Road to Recovery

Update 5-29-25
Rachel is doing great.  Her therapies are starting to cut back a little bit and after over 8 months by her side I will be returning to work.  Rach continues to impress her therapists and doctors.  She is getting better at retrieving short term memories and has a lot of random thoughts of past events, but still has years worth of blank spots from her past.  All she focuses on is moving forward, being positive, happy and working hard to recover the best she can.

Her daily life is therapy, games, card games, walks, naps, home excercises and paper homework for memory/problem solving skills.  She is trying to focus on her family and friends, her love for her sister and only moving forward in her life.

Rachel's past private violin instructor is doing a benefit concert on Saturday June 14th, 7:30 pm at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepard, 4801 France Ave South, Minneapolis.  Instead of charging admission they are asking for donations.

Update (10-6-24):
Rachel is one "spicy" fighter!! She has started to open her eyes and follow you as you move around in her room. She will squeeze your hand with her right hand so hard you want to call "uncle"..... getting better with the left hand. The doctors are wanting to remove her ventilator from her mouth and do a trach and move her feeding tube from her nose to her stomach. Unfortunately, she is fighting a blood infection. So when that goes away, they will do that procedure. Please keep praying/sharing GFM as every little bit helps.

This story is about our sweet Rachel. She is in need of our help any way you can. She was involved in a car/semi accident early Tuesday morning September 24. She is in the SICU in critical condition with a severe brain injury with swelling and several broken bones throughout her whole body. She is currently on a ventilator and a chest tube to help her breathe. So her journey to recovery will be a very long road. Prayers and positive thoughts are always welcome. Mark is doing his best to stay focused on Rachel.
