Support Paris Raschke's Fight Against Cancer

Hi, my name is Jodi Ibieta, and I’m fundraising for medical expenses and daily living expenses for Paris Raschke. Paris is the 20-year-old daughter of my best friend, Peggy. Peggy and I have been friends for 30 years, and while Peggy is doing everything she possibly can to help her daughter through this difficult time, Paris is in need of financial help.

Paris is a 20-year-old college student attending LSU. On Christmas Day 2023, Paris was diagnosed with a tumor. Uncertain of the type, she underwent surgery January 3, 2024; wherein, a few weeks later, her life as she knew it was flipped upside down. She was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. Since then, she has been in the hospital receiving chemo every other week. She leaves in a few weeks for Memphis, Tennessee for radiation and then will return to Louisiana to finish her chemotherapy.

Through all of this, Paris has remained determined to stay in school. She’s had to rearrange some things, schedule on-line classes, et cetera, but she has been doing it all by the grace of God. Before her diagnosis, Paris worked two jobs to pay her living expenses, which is her rent, utilities and sorority fees. While she is not living in her apartment at the moment, she could not get out of her lease. Praying all things go as planned, right as her treatment is due to finish, it’ll be time for her to return to campus and attend in-person classes. Again, needing another apartment, which she’s already had to put a deposit on.

She is currently being treated by St. Jude, which the family is very grateful for, but because Paris is 20 and is considered an adult, all hospital bills incurred from her initial hospitalization on Christmas day and then the subsequent surgery before her diagnosis are not covered by St. Jude and are Paris’ responsibility.

Any amount, large or small, will help. It’s been a lot for her to bear the financial burden while she’s concentrating on her treatments. While no one should have to worry about bills during such a time as this, it just doesn’t seem fair at all for a 20-year-old who is still determined to live as normal a life as possible while kicking cancer’s ass.
