Notts County Football Club Official Supporters Association jointly with the Notts County F.C. Academy
Notts County Football Club was founded in 1862 and is the oldest professional football club in the World.
It is a founding member of the English Football League but also shares a very special bond with Italian Club, Juventus FC after John Savage (an Englishman playing for Juventus) arranged in 1903 for replacement shirts to be sent to the Italian club by a County-supporting friend, back home. Juventus have worn the black and white stripes Notts County traditionally play in, ever since. For this reason, that special bond saw Notts invited to play a friendly that opened the new Juve stadium, in 2011.
In 2013, Notts County F.C. made an appeal through its website, for volunteers to form a Notts County F.C. Official Supporters Association which lead to a group of enthusiastic fans meeting for the first time in the Club’s 1862 Suite on 12 September 2013. The aim of NCFCOSA was to raise money for our club and academy and run events for our Members. Between 2013 to date, the NCFCOSA Committee have raised over £47,400 for our club and Academy but this is our most adventurous fundraiser yet.
Throughout its long history, Notts County F.C. have enjoyed many mixed fortunes with the club playing in all four divisions across the old English Football League.
In 2019, the club lost its EFL status, with relegation to the National League. This means that the funding that was previously available to them to maintain its Academy has now been cut and with another season secured in the N.L. , NCFCOSA now seeks to raise a phenomenal amount of money – to enhance the financial support already given by our Owners - to ensure our young players of the Notts County F.C. Academy are able to continue their League-winning ways in the up-coming season.
NCFCOSA will combine this gofundme account with other regular fundraisers via our social media accounts and website – www.ncfcosa.co.uk - in attempts to meet any shortfall needed in our long-term commitment to support and fundraise jointly with the Academy, it’s Manager, Dave Plant, staff and players.
The Academy, we are sure, contains a future at Notts County F.C. and can bring future stars through to our first
team and we sincerely thank you for supporting our efforts.
