Support Melissa Hopkins-May's Cancer Battle
Don protégé
For those that have not heard of the journey our friend, Melissa Hopkins-May, has been on the last few years……
Melissa is a lifelong resident of Clermont. She is a Clermont High School Class of ’89 graduate, UCF alumni, daughter (John (d) and Pat Hopkins), wife (Criag), mother (Casey and Hannah), and friend to so many. In 2018 Melissa was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a bilateral mastectomy, total hysterectomy and treated with medications. July of this year she developed jaundice and was diagnosed with localized Stage 2 Pancreatic Cancer. Melissa is currently undergoing chemotherapy to reduce the size of the tumor. While self-advocating and educating herself on pancreatic cancer treatment, she found that she is a candidate for a minimally invasive procedure, NanoKnife. The procedure will be performed in Hollywood, FL once her chemotherapy is completed.
This GoFundMe account was created to ease the financial burden, allowing Melissa and her family to focus their energy on her treatment and recovery during this difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly towards covering these unplanned expenses, providing much-needed relief during an already emotional ordeal. The family is going through an incredibly difficult and trying time, facing immense challenges that have tested their strength and resilience. Yet despite the hardships they are enduring, they remain deeply grateful for any and all support and assistance that comes their way, even if it's in the simple form of being lifted up through the power of prayer.
