My dear close friend Johanna (Jay), her husband Ryan and their 4 year old son Liam have some of the most challenging days ahead of them... I am asking for your support...
Their daughter McKenzie Ryan (aka little fighter) unfortunately lost her battle and passed away on December 15th at the young age of 4 months and 10 days old...This comes after she showed her strength and inspired even those who didn't know her.... She was born two months early at 1lb 8oz and spent a great deal of time in the NICU... She met her milestones, gained weight, and proved to everyone she was the strongest little girl in the world... She was recently readmitted to the hospital due to complications from common winter viruses that unfortunately affected her worse than someone her age...
The family now has a long road ahead of coping with the unimaginable... I am sure you can all foresee the insurmountable pain this family is dealing with at this time...Anyone who knows Jay, knows she is an AMAZING Emergency Room RN and person who would give you the shirt off her back...This also goes for her husband Ryan who is a stellar and respected NYPD officer.... These are two people who would go above and beyond for anyone...This is just the type of people they are...
To alleviate funeral and additional costs during this time of mourning, I have started this Go Fund Me page to help support the family at this difficult time.... I have posted prayer chains to a few mom's groups on facebook, in addition to my personal page, and the overwhelming response just goes to show how much this little girl has inspired everyone with her story...I have been asked by strangers if there was a Go Fund Me so they could donate after hearing of this terrible news...I am asking even if it is $1, $5, $10 or anything you could afford, I know this will be one less thing they need to focus on at this time...Especially during the holiday season...
