Support Mazana and his family's fire recovery
Donation protected
Hi. Our names are Tesfahun Fitamo and Sara Hammer. We started this fundraiser to help Tesfahun's neighbours, Mazana and his family, to purchase emergency supplies after their farm and possessions were destroyed in Ethiopia's climate change, turbo-charged, dry season fires.
Mazana and his family need urgent financial assistance to purchase essential items. These include:
- Food to last the family through the dry season, including 200 kg Maize flour $660.00
- Clothes $360.00
- Notebooks and textbooks for children to continue their education $480.00
Most Ethiopians live directly from the land. There is no social welfare for Mazana and his family to access. People in local, social networks experience similar challenges and their capacity to help is limited.
Sara is a permaculture designer and former academic from Australia. Tesfahun is a local farm manager and permaculture practitioner who is supporting local farmers to practice permaculture and syntropic farming.
Whatever amount you can afford to donate will help Mazana and his family to survive as they rebuild their farm. Thank you.
