Support May’s Dream of Sustainability Coaching

My name is May, I have chosen a life path of helping to protect Mother Earth and helping more people to do the same. The path is not necessarily easy. I need some help at this critical junction.

Sustainability Coaching

I am starting a social enterprise called Eco Connects which is a sustainability coaching and consulting business. Sustainability coaching is a new type of coaching that empowers people to live more sustainably. It keeps people accountable to their sustainable goals and offers encouragement for their dreams. I want to be able to offer this service for free to people with low income because I believe everyone deserves access.

My environmental background is a great asset for Sustainability Coaching. I completed a Bachelor of Environmental Science (2011) and Master of Environmental Studies (2015). I worked for two years with environmental non-profits and gained knowledge in sustainable initiatives. I recently received training in coaching with the Fowler International Academy of Professional Coaching.

I have been very fortunate to have the assistance from a self-employment program for people with disabilities called Go 3D. I have a mental health diagnosis and I want to work in a way that is flexible, meaningful, and can support my fiancé Miguel and future family.

Currently, I have a business plan as well as several pro-bono coaching clients. I am really enjoying the coaching so far and I want to focus my efforts on this part of the business.

My dream is to run a business that helps people to live sustainably and act on the eco-crisis. I want it to be self-sufficient and viable in the long-term, with both paid and pro-bono clients. In the short-term, I need some extra help.

Call for Funds

I have financial support from Go 3D until September 2023, after which time I will need to be self-sufficient with my business.

The funds raised here will give me a salary on which to live while I grow the business beyond September 2023. It will enable me to gain experience in sustainability coaching and demonstrate its usefulness at this time of great need on Earth.

I want to use the funds raised in GoFundMe to sponsor people for free sustainability coaching. For every $300 raised, I will commit to coaching one person for four one-hour sessions.

I am aiming to raise $36,000, which amounts to a full year’s salary for sustainability coaching. The calculation is $300 per person X 10 people per week X 12 months. I will use this money for:

- Buying a small used fuel-efficient car (needed for giving workshops)

- Buying business insurance

- Paying for basics such as food and cell-phone bills

- Paying for some wedding expenses

- Saving for a piece of land

With your help, I will be able to supercharge the good intentions of dozens of people who want to live more sustainably. I will help people to take steps closer to their dreams, including my own. We will make sustainability coaching known to the world as a good solution for the eco-crisis that focuses on incremental behavior change.
