Support Marc's Fight Against Lung Disease

Anyone who has ever met my brother, Marc Schmidt, would agree he is the sweetest and kindest person you could ever meet. Right now, Marc desperately needs our help.

In October of 2022, Marc developed pneumonia and was hospitalized without any health insurance. At 52 years of age, the doctors diagnosed him with I.L.D., the hardening and scarring of the lung tissue, which makes it difficult to breathe. I.L.D. affects only about five percent of the population and life expectancy is three to five years.

Today he is on oxygen 24/7. Without his oxygen tank, he can’t walk around the block. He is quickly exhausted and has to return home. I.L.D. also causes a lot of pain in his joints and muscles. It makes everyday activities, such as working or cooking food, almost impossible.

Marc was prescribed Prednisone by the doctor as his only option. Prednisone helps with inflammation of the lungs, but there are over 40 negative side effects, many of which he has experienced. We decided this was not the best route for his recovery as it is only a band-aid. It is NOT a remedy.

There are many proven methods outside of traditional western medicine that can partially help, but of course, these treatments are expensive and not covered by health insurance.

It’s been over a year and he still hasn’t received any help from Government Disability. The financial and emotional pressure has been overwhelming.

We have faith and hope that with your help we can treat and reverse a percentage of his pain and suffering and he will be able to resume a somewhat normal life, without the aid of an oxygen machine.
