Support Marc & Family During Legal Case

On New Year’s Eve, there was a protest in Downtown Minneapolis against our unfair judicial system. Despite the peaceful behavior of the protesters, five of them were charged with felonies—a common tactic used by police to discourage political demonstrations critical of their organization. Marc Holley, an eight year veteran of the Marine Corps, was among the charged. Now his livelihood is threatened. Though unlikely to stick, these charges alone could take away his career as a security consultant and violence-prevention instructor.
Marc works tirelessly to advocate for racial justice, police reform, and worker’s rights. As a veteran with two tours in Afghanistan, a trans-racial adoptee, latinx person, and small business owner, Marc uses his range of experiences to support community organizing in Minneapolis. Now it is time for the community to support Marc.
Because he is facing a felony charge of 2nd degree riot, Marc is currently unable to possess or be near weapons. This means that he is also unable to teach permit to carry classes and provide firearms coaching to Atlas Defenses’ diverse clientele. Marc has effectively lost the career he has spent over a decade building. In the meantime, this case could stretch from six to twelve months depending on a variety of legal factors.

To account for unexpected expenses and platform fees, we have set a fundraising goal of $25,000 to make sure Marc can take care of himself, his spouse and pets, and focus on his case.
