Support Lydia’s Competitive Ski Season

To our friends and family, 

We are excited and proud to announce that our daughter, Lydia Nelsen,  has qualified to compete in the Junior Freeride World Championships! Lydia has found her passion in freeride skiing and put a lot of hard work into being where she is today. The event will take place at the resort of Kappal,  in Austria, at the end of January. We are starting this go fund me to support travel costs, for this event as well as the remaining competition season as she will start competing in the adult circuit in 2023 to fight for a spot on the Freeride World Tour. A message from Lydia,

I am excited for this opportunity to see the beautiful mountains of Europe and see how I stack up against some of the best Freeriders in the world. Skiing is an art as much as it is a sport, it’s a mental battle as much as it is a physical battle. In the mountains is where I built confidence in my skiing but more importantly my confidence as a human being. It’s where I found myself and made meaningful connections with others. I’m chasing a goal to try and be one of the best in the world. Not because I have anything to prove, even to myself. But because I want to live, spending as much time doing what I love, surrounded by a community to share that passion with.

COMPETITION INFO:

The World Championships will be live streamed and the competition window is January 23-26th. Updates throughout the season will be posted on social media.
