The toughest fight of her life: Lydia’s story

Lydia is no stranger to adversity…she has faced life’s toughest challenges with unwavering strength. And no matter how difficult the situation, she has always found a way to endure and overcome each and every one of them. As a single mother, she has been the pillar of resilience for her family. She worked endless nights, double shifts, and juggled 2-3 jobs at a time to make ends meet. This is just one example of many. But such adversities never got the best of Lydia. It only made her stronger. And to this day, she remains to be the strongest person I know.

In October 2023, she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Nothing in the world could prepare her and her family for this devastating news. The immediate shock of her diagnosis was (and still is) an emotional rollercoaster.

Many people have expressed their love, support, and prayers as Lydia navigates this extremely difficult journey. For the coming months, she will have numerous oncology/medical visits, chemo appointments, possible surgery, and other medical tests. As we all know, medical expenses can be expensive and completely overwhelming. Lydia has lost the ability to work as she goes through treatment and will have no steady income as her hair stylist business is too physically demanding at this time.
