Support Long Time Charlotte Deli

Donation protected
During COVID we’ve all felt endless emotions on the “Corona Coaster”.  Ups, downs, anxiety, concern and uncertainty.  One emotion commonly felt is loss.  Loss of jobs, lives and stability.  With very little notice, our world just changed.

Another emotion I personally feel is helplessness.  I want to support others, but often don’t know how because people are too proud to ask for help, or I don’t want to make assumptions.  One industry we all can agree that has been decimated is hospitality.  As a native Charlottean, I hate to see some of our long standing institutions struggle.  The Manor Theater, Carpe Diem, Upstream, Summit Room, along with many more won’t return after this.  Phil’s Deli has served Charlotte for 39 years.  39 years.  They’ve not only fed our bodies, but go above and beyond to humbly serve the community.  It’s time for us to support them.

Phil, his wife Denise and daughter Amy, work in their restaurants daily.  They’ve grown from the original location in Cotswold and now have two locations. They are Uptown (which is unfortunately closed with everyone working remotely), and at Strawberry Hill on the corner of Providence and Fairview.  The Strawberry Hill location was closed for several months last year while the center underwent renovations, and now like so many they’ve been hit hard because of COVID.

We’ve created a Go Fund Me account to give them immediate relief, but there are other ways you can spread the word to support Phil’s.  Every meal they serve counts!  First and foremost go by for breakfast or lunch.  They have dine in, outdoor patio space and take out.  I highly recommend the BLT salad!  It’s a casual spot to hit with the kids or in tennis gear.

*  You can purchase Amy’s incredible baked goods (gluten free options) pound cakes in broad flavors (full size and mini’s), brownies by the dozen, frozen pies (peanut butter, key lime, strawberry, raspberry, peach, banana cream- need I continue) or dipped rice crispy treats.  Think of teachers, healthcare workers, and other frontline heroes could use a special delivery or treat.

*  Grab a pound or two of my favorite chicken salad, or even deli meats for kids lunches from Phil’s instead of your regular grocery store.

*  If your group, church or school has needed help, they’ve likely been there.  Now let’s be there for them!  Order and they’ll deliver catering orders over $50

Right now they are open from 9-3 Monday thru Saturday, 9-2 on Sunday.  They’re on Door Dash and PostMates as additional options for you.
