Support independent journalism.
Augusta Free Press LLC was founded in 2002 by Chris and Crystal Graham. Since then, we have delivered top-notch news and sports coverage from an award-winning team of reporters and photographers – all for free.
No paywalls. No subscription required. While many news sources are now behind a paywall for $10 or $20 per month, we have resisted the urge to do the same. We want more people reading our news, not less.
As journalists, we’ve covered stories that no one else has touched.
We’ve rallied for the LGBTQ+ community, Medicare for All, affordable housing.
Most importantly, we hold local government – and local police – accountable.
We’ve pushed through challenging times, including the recession in 2008-2009, and the pandemic, when many local news sources cut back or shuttered entirely.
For instance, one of our local peers, The News Virginian, based in Waynesboro, recently let go its last full-time reporter, Bob Stuart.
Now, more than ever, with the challenges that our local community, our state, our nation, is facing, independent journalism is needed.
We’ve done a lot in our first 23 years in the Valley, but we know we can do more.
Your support will ensure that we continue to deliver the news, and that it reaches more people than ever.
Augusta Free Press is not a non-profit organization, so any voluntary subscription/gift is not tax deductible.
