April 2021 Update
When I started this campaign, Barbara and I thought this was a short term effort to patch a bridge over a short hiatus from "normal".  Here we are.   This campaign continues to be necessary.  We have been able to support Animal Fare through one year.

As people come back to the neighborhood, we hope they will also begin shopping local again.   If you are able, please donate a few (or many) dollars.  Please forward to like minded people in your network.  Local businesses create  and support community; let support our small businesses.

Think global, shop and act locally!

November 2020 Update
You all have been a great lifeline to our local business. As life finds a new normal and Animal Fare figures out how to operate safely for staff and customers, this group has kept the expenses paid and business afloat.  Times are still tough. Please encourage friends in the neighborhood to stop in and shop local.  Please stop by and stock up on treats and high quality food... or a coat for the dog, booties, a new bed.  Every bit helps.  Please share this link with like minded friends and if you can support, please also make a donation in ANY amount.  It all adds up to saving our local businesses.

Thank you everyone who has contributed so far.  We have been able to keep the goodies coming into the neighborhood (i.e. paying vendors), and covering insurance and tax bills as they arise! Please share with your network far and wide. Every donation $5.00 to $500 is making a huge impact on keeping this local gem afloat.

Animal Fare is a local Windsor Terrace business since 1991 and is family owned and run.
I am launching this fundraiser to support our local small business Animal Fare to bridge them from the beginning of NY Pause through the reopening as life gets back to our new NYC hum.  The funds will be used to cover some of the ongoing expenses while hours and access to the store have been limited.  Since March, rent, insurance, and suppliers still have to be paid. Barbara's dedication to the neighborhood has kept Animal Fare open with restricted hours and access. Call ahead and she preps your order for pickup.  During this time, its just not quite enough revenue to cover expenses.

Many of us know Animal Fare as a local place to get great pet advice, meet neighbors, and of course generous treats for the pups. Since moving here, Barbara has helped me through cat issues, being a new dog owner, and has introduced me to numerous dogs and their humans.  My dog will  greet people she met at Animal Fare and is developing her own fan base; to me this demonstrates the community building that this place creates.

Please think of your support as sustaining a local institution. This place is Brooklyn and gives back every day to our community.
